Section 144, which forbids public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, protests, and processions close to Adiala Jail, the Red Zone, and other sensitive areas, was implemented by the Deputy Commissioner of Rawalpindi due to the state of law and order, according to an official announcement.
Carrying weapons, batons, stones, petrol bombs, and explosive materials is also prohibited by the order.
It has also been forbidden to remove police roadblocks or interfere with traffic.
The announcement states that Section 144 will be in effect until May 19, 2026.
The administration said that in order to preserve public order and calm, quick action was required.
