Khalid Maqbool acknowledges the purported leakage of the Cambridge examination paper.

Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, on Tuesday articulated profound worry and dismay at the purported leakage of Cambridge test papers.

He asserted that such occurrences inflict significant mental distress, anxiety, and doubt onto thousands of students and their parents, especially those who diligently prepare for their examinations with commitment and integrity.

Khalid Maqbool stated that this is a profoundly serious issue, particularly given analogous events were reported the previous year.

He underscored the necessity for Cambridge to enhance and fortify its examination system, security measures, and monitoring processes to ensure its efficacy and resistance to tampering, thereby reinstating and sustaining students’ faith and confidence.

The minister has promptly instructed the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) to engage with Cambridge authorities to facilitate a comprehensive investigation into the incident, ascertain the facts, and implement urgent measures to safeguard students’ interests.

The Federal Minister emphasized that the Government of Pakistan will not negotiate on the educational prospects of students, the integrity of the examination system, and the safeguarding of merit.

He emphasized that all pertinent institutions must execute their duties with diligence and accountability.
