PM Shehbaz to participate in Iran-US agreement signing event in Geneva

High level delegation will accompany Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Geneva to witness the event of signing of agreement between Iran and United States, official sources said.
Sources say the ceremony of the Iran-US agreement will be conducted in Geneva and an initial memorandum of understanding will be signed on Friday. Then talks will continue for 60 days on Iran’s nuclear programme, lifting of sanctions and other main topics.
US, Iran reach preliminary deal to stop war, sign Friday
The first deal would need a pause to military operations on all fronts and the resumption of marine traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, Arab media said. But some US politicians have warned that the two sides’ different interpretations of the pact could cause disputes in the future.
Former US President Donald Trump congratulated both sides and noted that the agreement with Iran has been completed. In a statement he made, he declared that the US naval blockade on Iranian ports has been lifted and worldwide shipping operations should restart.
He also indicated that oil supply routes and the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened when a truce is signed on Friday. “We will also work to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines” as part of the accord, he said.
