President Zardari 71st birthday celebrates at the Governor House in Lahore.

— A ceremony was organized at the Governor House in Lahore on Tuesday to mark the 71st birthday of President Asif Ali Zardari, where Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider Khan cut a cake alongside Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) activists and offered prayers for the president’s health and long life.

PPP workers gathered at the Governor House to celebrate President Asif Ali Zardari’s birthday where chants in favour of the president and the party were raised during the ceremony.

Speaking to the attendees, Governor Saleem Haider said that President Zardari’s strategy of political reconciliation contributed to ensuring democratic continuity in Pakistan. The president is a seasoned politician who has been a leading figure in the country’s democratic development, he said.

The governor said PPP has always sacrificed for democracy and would continue to support the constitutional and democratic institutions.

He said the party remained committed to strengthening democratic values, upholding the Constitution and reinforcing the rule of law.

Governor stated Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, PPP Chairman, was a leader who believed in his values and did not compromise on his principles for political expediencies.

The ritual ended with a prayer for the well health of President Zardari and for peace, stability and democratic progress in the country.
