The cost of electricity increased by 75 paisas per unit, burdening consumers.

Under the monthly Fuel Price Adjustment (FPA) for June 2026, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has authorized an increase in power prices for users nationwide of 75 paisas per unit.

The extra payment will be collected from customers during their August 2026 electricity bills, according to a NEPRA notice. Customers of K-Electric will also be affected by the change.

Under the June monthly fuel price adjustment, the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had asked for an increase of Rs1.20 per unit. Nevertheless, NEPRA authorized a smaller increase of 75 paisas per unit after examining the request.

Customers of energy, who already have to deal with expensive power bills and growing living expenses, will be further burdened financially by the most recent rise.
