Nawaz Sharif decided appointment of AJK PM Iftikhar Gilani: Rana Sanaullah

Adviser on Political Affairs to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Senator Rana Sanaullah claimed that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif decided to make Barrister Iftikhar Gilani prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on a private television program, Rana Sanaullah claimed the party leadership and Nawaz Sharif decided to designate Iftikhar Gilani as the AJK prime minister.
He said the party leadership had a tough decision to make but the final decision was in favour of Iftikhar Gilani. No one had been treated unfairly as a consequence of the decision, he noted.
Rana Sanaullah further added that Shah Ghulam Qadir was the president of the party and he would stay with the party at whatever cost. Shah Ghulam Qadir and Raja Farooq Haider will be part of the squad, he said.
It is noteworthy that Iftikhar Gilani of PML-N was elected as the 17th prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He secured 30 votes while Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sardar Mukhtar Khan got 14 votes.
Iftikhar Gilani was elected to Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2011. He also served as AJK education minister and this time was elected to assembly on a technocrat seat. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Adviser on Political Affairs Senator Rana Sanaullah has revealed that the decision to name Barrister Iftikhar Gilani the prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir was decided by PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif.
