Fazl says JUI-F’s cooperation with PTI only confined to Parliament

PTI’s cooperation is limited to the Parliament only and there is no political alliance between the two parties at the grassroots level, claimed Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
He said the deal was now confined to the parliamentary arena and could not be seen as a political partnership.
JUI-F chairman had expressed these views while talking to media at the residence of senior journalist Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Shami at Lahore on Sunday.
Speaking on the subject of relations between the federation and provinces, Fazlur Rehman said the issue was basically about the National Finance Commission (NFC).
He said Constitution allows increase in provincial share under NFC but not decrease.
“The house is on fire and this is not the time to talk about division,” the JUI-F chairman stated, expressing alarm over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country.
Fazlur Rehman said that the federal government wants to take control of the provinces’ mineral riches and said that the writ of the government has been undermined in three provinces.
Senior journalists Salman Ghani, Sohail Warraich, Mansoor Ali Khan and others were also present in the gathering in which the participants had thorough discussions on the current political scenario of the country.
