Mohsin Naqvi to visit Iran today for bilateral talks

Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi will visit Tehran today to discuss bilateral issues and areas of mutual interest, said Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei.
Baghaei said Naqvi’s visit will be focused on bilateral relations and follow up of prior understandings between Pakistan and Iran, particularly at leadership level.
The Iranian spokesman claimed he had no information aboutNaqvi carrying any message or proposal from the United Statesduring his visit to Tehran.
“Pakistan, with its role in regional diplomacy, could exploit opportunities to discuss regional issues but there was no sign at this point of any specific US initiative being passed on through the Pakistani minister,” he said.
Naqvi is likely to hold talks with Iranian officials during his visit which comes amid ongoing diplomatic activity between Pakistan, Iran and the United States.
