A Grade-18 FBR officer was abducted from Rawalpindi and held for a ransom of Rs. 10 million.

A senior Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officer was abducted earlier this month from Rawalpindi and held for ransom.

Authorities have filed a First Information Report (FIR) after receiving a complaint from the brother-in-law of FBR’s Inland Revenue Services Grade-18 officer Rahmatullah Khan, who was kidnapped on April 12 during the Eidul Fitr holidays by unidentified persons.

On April 12, at 11 a.m., the complainant said that Khan had left his house to wish his friends a happy Eid. Not only has he vanished, but his cell phone has been off since then.

About the kidnapping of the FBR officer, police on April 15 filed a formal complaint. A caller speaking Sindhi demanded a ransom of Rs. 10 million, according to the brother-in-law of the missing officer.

Rahmatullah Khan, according to his kidnappers, is being held captive in the Katch area, which is well-known for being home to dacoits and other lawbreakers.
