A police officer was killed in the Hangu attack on the polio team.

In Hangu, militants ambushed a squad tasked with guarding a polio vaccination team, resulting in the martyrdom of a police officer and the injuries of four others.

The incident happened in the vicinity of the Thall Police Station, close to Chapri Waziran, according to police sources.

As more personnel were called to the location, a shootout broke out. For medical attention, the injured were moved to a nearby hospital.

Israrul Haq, the deceased officer, was a Shangla native who was enrolled in the PTC Intermediate course at the time.

The injured cops were receiving medical attention, according to police spokespersons, and a search operation has been started in the region to find the attackers.
