Pakistan begins its second anti-polio campaign in 2026.

The first nationwide anti-polio campaign of 2026 was declared effective by the nationwide Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) in February.
Over 4,43,00,000 children received the polio vaccine as part of the campaign, according to a statement from the NEOC.
Details indicate that the anti-polio program will run through April 19. The program is being implemented simultaneously in 382 districts in Afghanistan and 169 districts in Pakistan.
With over 400,000 professionals deployed, the program seeks to vaccinate approximately 45.3 million youngsters.
Sindh wants to vaccinate 10.5 million youngsters, whereas Punjab wants to vaccinate 23.4 million.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plans to vaccinate 7.3 million children against the polio virus, while Balochistan has set a goal of 2.6 million.
The anti-polio campaign targets 280,000 children in Gilgit-Baltistan and 710,000 youngsters in Azad Kashmir.
Polio drops will be given to over 450,000 children in Islamabad.
In susceptible locations, a five-day anti-polio campaign will be carried out, followed by two catch-up days with the deployment of special mobile teams.
Additionally, vitamin A drops will be provided to kids to help strengthen their defenses. For the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, a unique plan has been developed that calls for vaccination at every crossing site.
Polio cases have significantly decreased as a result of previous collaboration, but both countries still maintain conditional travel restrictions.
