Around the world, today is being observed as the International Day of Solidarity with Palestinians.

Today (Saturday) is the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which is being observed worldwide, including in Pakistan.
The international community demonstrates support for the Palestinian people’s rights, dignity, justice, and right to self-determination on this day each year.
The General Assembly declared November 29th to be the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in 1977. The Assembly approved the resolution on Palestine’s partition on that day in 1947.
In Resolution 60/37 of December 1, 2005, the UNGA asked the Division for Palestinian Rights and the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People to continue hosting a cultural event or an annual exhibit on Palestinian rights in collaboration with the Permanent Observer Mission of Palestine to the UN as part of the day’s observance on November 29.
The resolution on this commemoration also calls on member states to keep promoting and supporting the observance as much as possible.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and the creation of an independent State of Palestine with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital in separate statements on the occasion.
