On the 18th anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari gave a moving and illuminating tribute, stating that the Daughter of the East’s life was a unique combination of bravery and compassion and that her ultimate sacrifice was a blood pledge that democracy in Pakistan would never give up.
December 27 is a day of community sadness, introspection, and reaffirmed commitment, according to the PPP chairman. He declared, “Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto was not just a leader; she was the fearless voice of democracy, the hope of the oppressed, and an unwavering symbol of resistance against dictatorship, extremism, and intolerance.”
Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasised her historic significance on a national and international level, saying that generations, particularly women and young people, are still inspired by her vision of a peaceful, democratic, and inclusive Pakistan.
He claimed that despite enormous obstacles, she pursued people-centered policies as prime minister, bolstered Pakistan’s defence, protected national sovereignty, and restored the nation’s progressive and respectable reputation abroad.
He recalled Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s unparalleled personal sacrifices, saying that she remained fearless and unwavering till she accepted martyrdom in the fight for democracy, even after losing her father and brothers and suffering years of persecution.
