CDF Asim Munir appeals for diplomatic attempts to overcome tensions as he wraps up his tour to Iran.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir, and the entourage wrapped off a three-day official visit to Iran.
According to an ISPR press release, the Field Marshal met with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Speaker of the National Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Commander of Khatam ul Anbiya Headquarters Major General Ali Abdollahi, and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian during the visit.
The talks centered on establishing long-lasting peace and stability in the area, with special attention to the changing security landscape, continuing diplomatic efforts, and cooperative initiatives.
Through persistent diplomatic efforts, the Field Marshal emphasized the necessity of communication, de-escalation, and peaceful resolution of unresolved issues.
Field Marshal Asim Munir conveyed his sincere gratitude to the Iranian people and government for their gracious welcome.
He expressed to the Iranian leadership the president, prime minister, and people of Pakistan’s heartfelt sympathies and best wishes, reiterating Pakistan’s wish to further the long-standing and fraternal ties between the two nations.
The press statement stated, “The visit reflects Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to facilitate a negotiated settlement to the Middle East conflict and to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.”
