CDF Asim Munir concludes Iran visit in pursuit of regional peace

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday concluded a day-long visit to Iran together with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, as part of Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts to break the stalemate in the ongoing US-Iran conflict and promote endeavours for durable peace and regional stability, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The two officials met in Tehran in a series of high-level consultations aimed at preventing further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and ending the war, the military’s media wing said.
Field Marshal Munir held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Mohsen Rezaei, representative of the Supreme Leader on the Supreme National Security Council, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
