Dar, Venezuelan counterpart discuss bolstering bilateral ties
— During a telephone discussion with Venezuela’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Relations and Foreign Trade, Félix Plasencia, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar discussed increasing bilateral cooperation and strengthening connections.
Dar thanked Plasencia on his appointment and extended Pakistan’s sympathies over recent earthquakes in Venezuela. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s sympathy with the Government and people of Venezuela and expressed his faith in the country’s resilience and recovery.
Plasencia appreciated the message of sympathy and humanitarian aid of Pakistan during the natural calamity. He also appreciated Pakistan’s participation in discussion and de-escalation in times of regional tensions between the United States and Iran, applauding Pakistan’s dedication to peace and diplomacy.
The two ministers discussed the long-standing friendly relations between Pakistan and Venezuela and expressed their resolve to further deepen the bilateral relations. They discussed the promotion of cooperation in trade, investment, business, agriculture, information technology and other areas of common interest.
Dar emphasised the necessity of continuing high level engagement to develop bilateral relations while both sides valued continued coordination at multilateral forums on matters of mutual interest.
The two ministers agreed to stay in regular communication and to meet at the earliest possible time.
