The government should respond firmly to the US statement: PTI

Following a recent statement by the US Foreign Office, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has raised worry over the government’s “silence.”

According to a PTI spokesman, the administration was unable to implement an autonomous foreign policy because it lacked public approval.

The US remark, he claimed, amounted to undermining Pakistan’s security and sovereignty and that the country had every right to defend its national interests.

Finally, it determined that the FO ought to take a firm stand against the ‘threatening’ statement released by the US.

Before, Pakistan was forewarned by the US that sanctions would be applied should it sign any new deals with Iran.

Pakistan may risk sanctions if it encourages economic agreements with Iran, according to US State Department Deputy Spokesman Vedant Patel, during a news briefing in Washington.

Reminding Pakistan to treat its relations with Iran as part of its foreign policy, he said people who reach deals should be cognizant of the sanctions.
