Indian airlines are prohibited from using Pakistani airspace for an additional month.

Officials announced on Wednesday that Pakistan has prolonged the ban on Indian flights using its airspace for an extra month.

All Indian-registered aircraft, including commercial passenger planes, military aircraft, and private jets, are prohibited from entering Pakistani airspace until January 27, 2026, according to a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority with government clearance.

Since its initial implementation on April 23, 2025, the airspace ban has cost Indian airlines billions of rupees.

The extension, according to the authorities, is a continuation of the earlier ban, highlighting Pakistan’s stringent control over its airspace with reference to Indian carriers.
