Iran will permit 20 Pakistani-flagged ships to pass through the Hormuz Strait: DPM

Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the deputy prime minister and foreign minister, announced on Saturday that the Iranian government has agreed to permit 20 additional ships flying the Pakistani flag to transit the Strait of Hormuz, with two ships doing so every day.
“I am pleased to share a great news that the Iranian government has agreed to allow 20 more ships under the Pakistani flag to pass through the Strait of Hormuz; two ships will cross the Strait every day,” he wrote in a post on X.
“We should be grateful for Iran’s constructive and welcome gesture. It will contribute to bringing stability to the area and is a sign of peace. This encouraging announcement is a significant step toward peace and will bolster our joint efforts in that regard,” he continued.
“Dialogue, diplomacy, and such confidence-building measures are the only way forward,” he declared.
In the meantime, Ishaq Dar spoke over the phone with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi.
The two leaders talked about current events and the changing regional landscape.
The deputy prime minister underlined the necessity of de-escalation, emphasizing that communication and diplomacy were still the only practical means of achieving enduring peace.
He also emphasized how crucial it is to put an end to all hostilities and attacks.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Dar, Pakistan is still dedicated to backing any initiatives meant to bring peace and stability back to the area.
