JUI-F is advised to postpone tomorrow’s public gathering due to a threat.

On April 20 (tomorrow), JUI-F will demonstrate its political strength in Quetta. Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman of the JUI-F would be present at the public meeting.

The JUI-F province chairman Maulana Abdul Wasay has also been informed of the threat alert, the DC stated in an official handout, adding that unidentified terrorists wish to strike the JUI-F public meeting.

According to the district government’s official handout, it was impossible to rule out the latest wave of terrorism. The deputy commissioner recounted the events of last month, including the martyrdom of a Levies employee, and the explosion in Pishin that claimed 17 lives the day before elections on February 7. There was terrorism involved as well.

The statement said, “Taking into consideration the threat alerts, it is kindly requested to postpone the public gathering/jalsa at Pishin district on April 20.”

A bombing that occurred in the Bajaur area of Khar tehsil, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, at the Workers’ Convention of JUI-F last year left at least 42 people dead and over 111 injured.

Ten severely injured individuals were transported to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar after three Pakistan Army helicopters participated in the rescue effort.
