King Abdullah II of Jordan will make a two-day official visit to Pakistan today.

At the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Jordan’s King Abdullah II will make a two-day state visit to Pakistan today (Saturday), which will significantly strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two nations.
The visit is intended to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, and cultural spheres and highlights the “longstanding, fraternal relations” between Islamabad and Amman, according to the Foreign Office.
High-level discussions between King Abdullah II and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari are planned during the visit. According to officials, the discussions will encompass all aspects of bilateral relations, and it is anticipated that both parties will look into new opportunities for strategic cooperation.
The Jordanian king will receive Pakistan’s highest civilian accolade during a special investiture ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in appreciation of his efforts to improve bilateral ties.
It will be King Abdullah II’s first trip to Pakistan since he visited during the administration of former President Mamnoon Hussain, when the two countries signed agreements on defense cooperation, civil protection, and housing cooperation.
The most recent visit occurs weeks after the Jordanian King met with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir in Amman and commended the professionalism of the Pakistani military.
