KP speaker requests documentation of law enforcement activities involving MPs and ministries.

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa legislature Babar Saleem Swati has asked record of police activities against the members of the legislature, ministers and other legislative personnel.

The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has submitted a letter to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IG, demanding full details of all occurrences involving members of the assembly, ministers, advisors, special assistants and parliamentary secretaries in the last two weeks.

The letter has asked the IG to give records of arrest, detention of relevant persons and raids, attacks and searches of their dwellings.

The police have also sought relevant reports and FIRs lodged at police stations and the records of persons who reported occurrences to the police.

The Assembly Secretariat has also asked to give the requisite comprehensive record promptly so that it may be placed before the Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

The letter said the information was wanted under Articles 66, 67 and 127 of the Constitution of Pakistan and referred to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Rules and Procedures 2025 and the Provincial Assembly Powers, Privileges and Privileges Act 2026.
