Nearly all of the wheat crop grown by farmers has been sold: Minister from Punjab

According to Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, the federal government bought 3.2 million metric tonnes of wheat in the caretaker setup, meaning that farmers in the province were not paid for their wheat production.

“This decision didn’t harm the farmer,” stated the provincial finance minister, adding that there was still 2.3 million metric tonnes of wheat.

According to his assertion, the middleman bought the wheat and the farmers sold all of their produce.

According to the state minister, the price of wheat has not decreased significantly and is still selling for 3,200 to 3,300 rupees per maund. The finance minister claimed that although the farmer wasn’t harmed by the rate, their earnings had decreased.

According to him, Punjab’s price surge has been significantly reduced by the choice not to purchase wheat from farmers.
