Nowshera road accident kills one, injures four

— One person was killed and four others injured after a police mobile van collided with a pick-up near Nowshera on Monday.

According to sources, the accident took place on Charsadda-Peshawar Motorway when a speeding police mobile skidded off the road after bursting a tyre and hit a pick-up stopped on the roadside, killing one person on the scene and injuring four others, including three police personnel.

After the collision, motorway police and rescue teams rushed the area and moved the dead and injured to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Nowshera. Later the injured were transported to Peshawar as they were in serious condition.

Meanwhile, the District Police Officer (DPO) Charsadda has taken notice of the event and called for an inquiry into the mishap.
