On April 1, the President calls a meeting of the National Assembly.

The National Assembly meeting was called to order on April 1 by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The president has used the authority granted to him by Article 54 (1) of the Constitution to call the assembly session. The President called the assembly meeting to order at 4 p.m. (afternoon) on April 1st, Monday, in Parliament House.

The 16th National Assembly of the nation will have its second session this year.

A planned meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was postponed earlier on Friday because government representatives were not present.

Members of the opposition, including female parliamentarians, demonstrated outside the assembly hall and screamed anti-government slogans. Recall that on March 22, KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali convened the provincial assembly session.
