One person died and five others were hurt in a grenade attack in Sibi.

An explosion in the Sibi city of Balochistan, near Chenak Chowk, killed one person and hurt many others on Thursday.

Police and rescue workers say the explosion happened around 7:05 p.m. in a popular area near Chenak Chowk.

Ghulam Ali Abro, the Station House Officer (SHO), revealed that the attack was caused by a grenade.

He said that one guy died and at least five others were hurt.

As soon as word of the explosion came in, rescue teams, including security officers and Edhi ambulances, hurried to the scene.

They moved the injured people to hospitals nearby to get medical care.

Gas leaks that explode in Quetta hurt mothers and children.

SHO Abro told the press that six people were hurt and carried away from the scene. One of them died from their injuries on the way to the hospital.

Barkat Khosa, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for the Sibi district, said that the injured were taken to the Teaching Hospital Sibi and that the body of the dead person was given to his heirs after all legal requirements were met.

After the attack, authorities blocked off the area and started a search to stop any other events from happening.

Security has been stepped up all around the city, especially in places that are critical.

Officials claimed that investigations are going on to find out what happened and why the incident happened, as well as to find the people who did it.
