Pakistan and China reiterate their commitment to enhance their all-weather strategic alliance.

On Wednesday, President Asif Ali Zardari conducted a bilateral meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng, during which they reiterated their commitment to enhancing the all-weather strategic cooperative cooperation founded on mutual trust, respect, and a common vision for regional peace and development.
During the meeting conducted alongside the Second World Summit for Social Development, they concurred to maintain strong collaboration on matters of shared interest at both regional and international platforms.
Reflecting on his recent trip to China, President Zardari stated that Pakistan and China are steadfast allies and enduring strategic partners.
He expressed gratitude to China for its steadfast and unwavering support to Pakistan during various circumstances, reiterating that the friendship with China is fundamental to Pakistan’s foreign policy.
The president praised China’s ongoing collaboration in the effective execution of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which has commenced its second phase of high-quality development.
Vice President Han Zheng sent cordial regards from President Xi Jinping and emphasised the steadfastness of the Pakistan-China alliance.
He acknowledged Pakistan’s endeavours in countering terrorism and fostering regional peace and security.
The Chinese vice president stated that China will persist in supporting Pakistan’s economic development throughout the second phase of CPEC, specifically in transportation and infrastructure, information technology, agriculture, and vocational training.
First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Qatar were in attendance during the meeting.
