Pakistan completes 446 Iraqi troops’ special forces training at NCTC

From 24 September to 29 November 2025, the Pakistan Army successfully finished Special Forces training for Iraqi Army contingents at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC).
The program brought together forces from both countries in a rigorous training environment with the goal of improving counterterrorism knowledge and operational preparedness.
The third group of Iraqi trainees to complete the training consisted of 446 individuals. Senior Pakistani Army officials and Iraqi military delegates attended the graduation ceremony on November 29, 2025. The importance of military cooperation and capabilities development between the two nations was highlighted by the attendance of both delegations.
Tactical exercises, specialized mission planning, and integrated combat readiness were all part of the training program’s emphasis on developing fundamental skills in counterterrorism operations. Throughout the course, trainees demonstrated remarkable professionalism, operational discipline, and dedication, demonstrating the depth of cooperation between the Iraqi Armed Forces and the Pakistan Army.
The organizers claim that every training goal was accomplished, hence enhancing Pakistan’s position as a regional center for specialized military training. Additionally, the program bolstered Pakistan and Iraq’s long-standing military-to-military connections, supporting their mutual objectives of improving regional security and defense cooperation.
