Pakistan denies Afghan allegations and maintains the truce following the gunfire at the Chaman Border.

According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, elements from the other country opened fire on Pakistani positions in the Chaman region without warning, confirming a ceasefire breach along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Pakistani security forces reacted quickly and efficiently, demonstrating responsibility and restraint during the engagement, the official statement said. According to the ministry, Pakistan’s skilled and well-thought-out response got the situation under control.
Sixth round of peace talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan
The initial bullets were fired from the Afghan side, officials said, rejecting Afghanistan’s assertions that Pakistan started the firing. Pakistani soldiers took entire responsibility for stabilizing the situation, the statement emphasized.
The ministry added that Pakistan is still dedicated to carrying on the conversation and that the truce is still in place. Islamabad said it hoped Afghan authorities would work together to stop similar situations from happening again.
The firing incident occurs during the third round of negotiations between Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban in Istanbul, which aims to fortify coordinated efforts to counter terrorism and maintain border calm.
