Pakistan has good reason to be concerned about TTP: Ambassador of the EU

According to Raimundas Karoblis, the newly appointed European Union ambassador to Pakistan, Pakistan has legitimate concerns about the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is prohibited.

Raimundas Karoblis stated in an interview that Pakistan has good reason to demand that Afghan territory not be exploited for terrorist activities. According to him, additional data is required before a judgment on the Afghan Taliban’s Doha pledges can be made.

He stated that Turkiye should mediate further talks between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

According to him, changes to the constitution are an internal problem for Pakistan. In response to a query, he stated that the courts have the final say about the PTI founder’s release.

According to Raimundas Karoblis, judicial independence and political variety are essential values. He stated that collaboration on climate change will continue to be a primary focus going forward and mentioned that the European Union gave Pakistan around 1 billion euros in aid during the floods in 2022.
