PM AJK Iftikhar Gilani takes oath, vows to bring growth and prosperity

— Acting AJK President Chaudhry Tariq Farooq administered oath of office to newly elected Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani.

Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during his speech to the AJK Legislative Assembly following the oath-taking ceremony on Tuesday.

In the post of prime minister, he extended gratitude to the party leadership and all those who voted for him.

Gilani remarked that joint efforts will be needed to make Azad Kashmir a model of progress and prosperity.

The prime minister said his government would have to get the support of members of the Legislative Assembly to get what it wants.

He vowed to work for the betterment of Azad Kashmir with the assistance of all the members of the house.
