PM Shehbaz and President Zardari praise youth as essential to Pakistan’s promising future.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have termed the youth of the country as a national asset and the builders of Pakistan’s bright future and said that it is imperative to tap their potential for a successful, peaceful and strong Pakistan.

In his statement on the World Youth Day, President Asif Ali Zardari has given respect to the Pakistani youth, stating that their enthusiasm, creativity and dedication are significant assets for the country. “Pakistan has a large youth population, about 67 percent of the population was below the age of 30, making the youth the largest human capital of the country,” he said.

Empowering young people was, in fact, an investment in Pakistan’s future, the president remarked. “The youth have common aspirations for access to quality education, decent employment and opportunities for innovation,” he continued. “Promoting the potential and leadership of young women is vital for the social and economic development of the country.”

President Zardari said the Prime Minister’s Youth Program was opening new avenues for the young people in the areas of education, skills, jobs and entrepreneurship. He asked the youth to imbibe the virtues of honesty, compassion and tolerance and actively participate in the nation’s growth.

“The full participation of the youth is the only way forward to build a strong, inclusive and prosperous Pakistan,” the president said.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in his statement on World Youth Day said that this year the day is being marked under the theme “Different Circumstances, Shared Aspirations”.

The topic, he said, emphasised the reality that young people all across the world live in various circumstances but have common hopes, wishes and aspirations for a brighter future.

He said Pakistan’s young population has made the country proud on national and international levels in different sectors of life. The administration was prioritising the utilisation of all possible resources for mental, physical, intellectual and academic development of young people, he said.

The government was committed to empowering young by providing them opportunities for contemporary and quality education, technical and professional skills, employment, business and entrepreneurship, digital innovation and social inclusion, the prime minister said.

The Prime Minister said that the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program was working to prepare a talented and skilled workforce while the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission had been further activated on priority basis to provide professional training as per international standards.

He called on young people to continue to strive hard with honesty, responsibility and a spirit of service to the country, noting that the development of youth was the guarantee of sustainable national progress and a bright future.
