President Asif Ali Zardari will spend two days in Lahore.

According to sources, President Asif Ali Zardari is expected to arrive in Lahore today for an official two-day visit.

The President will pay a visit to National Assembly member Samina Ghurki’s home while he is there. Before leaving for Bilawal House, where more engagements have been scheduled, he is probably going to stay for a while.

The visit is significant since Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is already in Lahore, according to party insiders. Expectations of significant political contacts and meetings over the next two days have been heightened by the presence of both leaders in the province capital.

Sources claim that as the leadership convenes in Lahore, important party issues, future political plans, and organisational matters may be discussed. Although no formal timetable has been made public yet, a number of internal meetings and contacts with party officials are probably in the works.

In preparation for the President’s arrival, security measures have been strengthened and pertinent departments have been put on high alert.
