President, PM agree to continue consultations amid PTI long march

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met at Aiwan-i-Sadr on Tuesday to talk about the country’s political and security conditions.
The discussion also included the situation caused by the long march organized by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Representatives from the negotiating committee provided updates to the President and Prime Minister on recent events and the progress of ongoing talks.
The meeting concluded that the consultation process should continue until any constitutional or legal steps are considered.
The leaders emphasized the need for further discussions and dialogue to handle the current circumstances.
Earlier, Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Senator Rana Sanaullah, stated that the government’s proposal for talks is still available, and that discussions can happen if the PTI stops its long march.
Rana Sanaullah said all institutions and provincial governments should fully support the federal government’s actions against terrorism.
He also urged the PTI to stand firmly with Pakistan and the federal government in the fight against terrorism.
