President Zardari and COAS Asim Munir talk about the state of security

The President and the COAS confer on issues pertaining to the nation’s general security posture and the continuing counterterrorism efforts.

Asif Ali Zardari was congratulated by COAS General Asim Munir on his appointment as president and supreme commander of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The president received well wishes from the COAS as well.

The president expressed his gratitude for the Pakistan Army’s contribution to the nation’s progress and security on this particular occasion.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen. Asim Munir met earlier in March to talk about matters pertaining to the security situation.

The two had not met since Shehbaz took over as leader of the opposition for a second term on Wednesday.

The COAS congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his appointment as prime minister and offered him best wishes.
