Dengue virus is an arboviral disease transmitted by mosquitoes that has had a remarkable global expansion in recent years. The transmission of the Dengue virus primarily occurs by female mosquitoes, primarily of the Aedes aegypti species, and to a lesser degree, the Ae. albopictus species.
According to the information provided, Punjab recorded a total of 92 new cases of dengue fever in the past week, with 17 of those instances occurring within the prior 24 hours.
In addition to raising awareness about the spread of dengue among the general public, the authorities have been implementing punitive measures against those who have violated the dengue standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Official sources report that the anti-dengue teams conducted inspections at Kabari Bazaar and discovered larvae in the tyre workshop. A complaint was filed against the owner, Amanullah, by the team.
During the period from January 1, 2024, to June 23, the District Health Authority Rawalpindi identified larvae in 8,064 locations as part of their anti-dengue surveillance efforts.

Providing information on the identification of dengue larvae, the health officer said that the surveillance teams discovered larvae in 6,735 households during interior surveillance, and identified larvae at 1,361 locations during outdoor surveillance.
