Saudi Arabia: Updated rules and regulations for employment

The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment in Islamabad claims that new regulations pertaining to leave and absenteeism have been put into place under Saudi Arabian labor law and would be applicable to all foreign workers throughout the Kingdom.
According to the updated framework, job seekers must adhere to the conditions of their contracts and be at least 21 years old in order to travel to Saudi Arabia for employment.
Employees who do not return on time after annual leave would be considered absent, according to the revised regulations. Additionally, an employee’s employment contract may be terminated if they miss 30 days in a row without giving notice or amass 60 days of intermittent absence.
According to officials, the actions are meant to ensure more stringent enforcement of labor regulations and improve workplace discipline among foreign workers.
To avoid problems, Pakistani nationals have been advised to fully comprehend the new legislation and to fulfill all legal requirements before departing.
The development comes after Saudi Arabian labor and residency restrictions were recently violated. According to reports, the Saudi General Directorate of Passports used administrative committees to issue almost 15,000 decisions in a single month over violations pertaining to labor, residency, and border security.
The Saudi Press Agency claims that these sanctions, which included fines, incarceration, and deportation, applied to both Saudi nationals and international residents.
