SIC chooses to put Hamid Raza forward for PAC chairmanship.

After much deliberation, the party leadership has decided to nominate Raza to be the chairman of the PAC.

Sher Afzal Marwat was previously put forward by PTI founder Imran Khan as a candidate for the position of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman.

The Sunni Ittehad Council’s (SIC) Sher Afzal Marwat Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was reportedly opted not to be elected only by opposition after the National Assembly (NA) Secretariat received his candidature.

According to the people with knowledge of the situation, Noor Alam Khan of the Maulana Fazalur Rehman-led Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is expected to be chosen by the parliament to serve as the PAC Chairman. Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly, will decide on the finances shortly.

According to the NA Secretariat, any member of the opposition and treasury may be appointed as the PAC chairman in accordance with the law and house rules. According to the reports, Noor Alam Khan of JUI-F, who previously held the position of PAC Chairman following a successful motion of no confidence against the then-prime minister Imran, is the front-runner for the position.

To create the PAC, the Senate and the National Assembly convene concurrently. The PAC’s members are chosen by senators and members of the National Assembly. Next, the chairman of the PAC is chosen by its members to guide the group.
