The Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi has arrived in Russia for discussions with President Putin.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi landed in Saint Petersburg on Monday following his second visit to Islamabad within two days.He arrived early on Monday morning to meet and confer with Russian President Vladimir Putin,” reported the Iranian national news agency IRNA on Telegram.

The TASS news agency in Moscow has reported that Putin intends to meet with Araghchi, as stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

Previously, Araghchi travelled to Russia while diplomatic attempts between Tehran and Washington were precarious, subsequent to a surge of regional diplomacy and the failure of scheduled discussions in Pakistan.

Abbas Araghchi travelled to Oman between visits to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and is anticipated to confer with President Vladimir Putin on Monday, as stated by the Iranian envoy.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump cancelled a scheduled visit to Islamabad by his envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

The Fars news agency reported that Iran has transmitted “written messages” to the Americans through the intermediary of Pakistan, delineating red lines, including nuclear matters and the Strait of Hormuz.

Fars stated that the texts were not included in formal negotiations.

United States media organization Axios reported on Sunday that Iran submitted a new plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and conclude the conflict, while deferring nuclear negotiations to a subsequent phase, according to a US official and two more sources familiar with the situation.

The Iranian state news agency IRNA referenced the report without refuting it.

The ceasefire in the US-Israeli conflict with Iran has thus far persisted, while its economic repercussions continue to resonate worldwide.
