The NHA warns of health concerns and issues a smog advisory.

The National Health Authority (NHA) released a warning on Tuesday to warn the public about the growing dangers of declining air quality as a result of the rising pollution trend anticipated as a result of the current weather patterns in the Punjabi plains and Pothohar region.

According to the NHA statement, air quality in the Punjabi plains and Potohar is predicted to deteriorate due to a combination of factors, including steady weather, residual burning of rice crops, emissions from industry and vehicles, and an impending westerly system.

It further stated that the forecast called for hazardous smog levels in the cities of Gujranwala, Multan, Lahore, Bahawalpur, and Faisalabad, as well as in the surrounding areas of Sargodha, DG Khan, and Sahiwal divisions, during the upcoming week in central and south Punjab.

On Tuesday, Punjab, especially Lahore, was still shrouded in haze. With an average AQI of 321, Lahore came in second place globally for air pollution. The AQI was measured at 410 on Wagha Road, 407 in Gulberg, and 406 in Johar Town.

With an Air Quality Index of 326, Delhi continued to lead the world in air pollution. Sialkot’s AQI was 405, and Peshawar’s was 364 points.
