The Pakistani government will declare a reduction in power costs starting in May 2024.

Governments will probably provide electricity bill assistance to customers again after providing one in April.

A petition to lower the fuel cost adjustment for May from Rs2.94 to Rs4.92 per unit has been submitted to NEPRA, according to a statement from the Ministry of Power Division. This will result in an electricity bill reduction of Rs4.12 per unit in comparison with March.

The government is attempting to pass on the benefits of decreasing gasoline prices to customers, according to Minister of Power Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari.

Pakistan has seen changes in the country’s energy tariff status. Tariffs appear to be mostly rising, although a few decreases in recent months.

As consumers endure the weight of high inflation, the situation is difficult for them.
