The Punjab government’s wheat price announcement is revoked by the LHC Bahawalpur Bench.

On Thursday, the Bahawalpur Bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) ruled that the official wheat price was invalid. Justice Abid Hussain Chatha delivered the ruling.
The Punjab government’s announcement that set the price at Rs 3,500 per 40 kg was revoked by the court, which said that the administration had not taken farmers and other pertinent parties into consideration when deciding the cost.
The court ruled that the judgment went against the rules of fairness and the law and ordered that a fair process be used to decide the wheat price.
In addition to stressing that farmers ought to be fairly compensated for their labor, the court directed the provincial administration to confer with the appropriate authority before determining a new price.
