Today, President Zardari will go on a five-day official visit to Iraq.

At the invitation of Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, President of the Republic of Iraq, President Asif Ali Zardari will depart for Iraq today (Saturday) on a five-day official visit.
According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs news release, the visit highlights the long-standing, fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iraq, which are based on common ties of faith, culture, and respect.
In order to examine the entire range of bilateral relations and determine how to further enhance collaboration in important areas of shared interest, such as trade and investment, energy, reconstruction, manpower, technology, education, and people-to-people interactions, the president will meet at high levels with the Iraqi leadership during the visit.
Additionally, cooperation at multilateral forums and regional and global developments will be discussed.
It is anticipated that the visit will strengthen the two nations’ long-standing friendly and warm relations, open up new business opportunities, and improve interpersonal relationships, especially in the areas of religious tourism and economic cooperation.
