Wahab Riaz is fired by PCB as senior team manager.
Additionally, Mansoor Rana, the team manager, was fired, according to sources.
Before the impending series against Bangladesh, the PCB has made the decision to add fresh faces to the squad management.
Along with former player Abdul Razzaq, Wahab Riaz was also kicked off of the seven-person Pakistan Men’s Cricket Selection Committee yesterday.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has alluded to a “major surgery” that includes a shakeup in the selection committee for the national men’s side.
Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the just finished ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where the squad was unable to go past the group stage, contributed to this decision.
With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 coming to an end, PCB Chairman Naqvi made reference to a significant surgery that the team may need.
On June 10, following Pakistan’s heartbreaking loss to India, Naqvi gave a news conference in New York and claimed the match was disappointing on many counts.
“The Pakistan cricket team appeared to be in need of minor surgery, but it is now evident that major surgery is required after their incredibly disappointing performance,” the PCB chairman stated.
