WhatsApp working on feature to make audio, video calls enjoyable

The Meta-owned instant messaging platform is reportedly working on an interesting feature to make the video and audio calls made through the platform more enjoyable.

The featured named “share music audio – video calls” will give the users ability to share music audio during a video call while the screen-sharing option, WABetaInfo reported.

“This enhancement will mark a significant step forward in enriching the user experience, allowing users to share not only visual content but also audio, creating a more interactive communication environment,” it said.

The WhatsApp news tracker stated that it had earlier reported about the feature being developed for the iOS, it also came to the fore that the same will be rolled out for Android as well.

With the help of WhatsApp’s new audio sharing feature submitted through 2.23.26.18 update, all participants in a video call would be abled to collectively listen to video and music audio when someone shares their screen, as shown in the attached screenshot.

“Any audio played on a device with the screen sharing option enabled will be shared with others in the call.”

The feature will bring several advantages as it facilitates multimedia collaboration by enabling users to collectively listen to video and music audio together during a video call.

Moreover, the call participants will be able to discuss and enjoy multimedia content together in real-time.

As per WABetaInfo, the feature demonstrates WhatsApp’s commitment to innovation and improving the overall user experience by adding a new layer of innovation to video calls, “setting WhatsApp apart in the competitive landscape of messaging and communication apps”.
