Pakistan has augmented humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka in response to the extensive destruction inflicted by the Datwa cyclone.

In accordance with directions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is expediting assistance activities for impacted Sri Lankan communities.

NDMA sent an extra 20 tonnes of relief supplies to Colombo via SriLankan Airlines from Lahore today. The shipment comprises tarpaulins and powdered milk.

The NDMA will persist in dispatching further relief cargo via commercial flights, while Pakistan Navy vessels and helicopters are actively involved in comprehensive humanitarian efforts throughout the impacted areas.
