Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a pleasant discussion with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, reaching an agreement to enhance bilateral cooperation. The Prime Minister’s Office announced that the meeting occurred during the International Air of Peace and Trust Summit in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan. Both leaders recognized the assistance that Pakistan and Iran provided to one another during external hostilities earlier this year. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the successful 22nd meeting of the Pakistan-Iran Joint Economic Commission, underscoring the necessity to enhance bilateral commerce, activate border markets, fortify border security, and reinstate the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul railway connectivity through increased collaboration.
