KP Chief Minister Afridi pledges an overnight sit-in near Adiala Jail following a refused meeting with Imran Khan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi declared on Thursday that he and leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) would encamp overnight outside Adiala jail following their request for a meeting with incarcerated former Prime Minister Imran Khan being denied.
Afridi arrived at Factory Naka, a police checkpoint adjacent to the prison, accompanied by PTI Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja, stating that party legislators and supporters had assembled to advocate for access to Khan, his family, and personal physician.
He stated that ongoing limitations on gatherings had transformed the region into a frequent venue for protests, cautioning that any increase in tensions would be the government’s responsibility if access remained obstructed.
CM Afridi characterises the hiding of Imran Khan’s condition as ‘medical terrorism.’
The demonstration ensues due to PTI’s apprehensions regarding Khan’s health. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that Khan recently underwent a surgical surgery for an ocular condition at the Pakistan Institute of surgical Sciences.
Raja stated that a court-sanctioned roster of visitors had been presented to the prison officials and characterised the encounter as a “fundamental human right.” Law enforcement established substantial security measures surrounding the facility and critical thoroughfares across Rawalpindi and adjacent motorways.
