Punjab makes buyer’s name, CNIC obligatory on ‘Fard Baraye Bay’

A legal document used to confirm land ownership during real estate transactions is the Fard Baraye Bay’s Identity Card (CNIC) number.

The PLRA stated in a statement posted on social media on Friday that the action is intended to improve the security and transparency of land purchases and sales throughout the province.

The authority claims that the new rule will guarantee that the Fard Baraye Bay—issued for the purpose of sale—clearly identifies the intended buyer by name and CNIC, lowering the likelihood of fraud and duplication.
