‘One App’ computerised traffic challan system launched in Punjab

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has opened the “One App” digital traffic challan system. This is the first time in the country that there is a way to enforce traffic laws based on proof.

A representative for the Traffic Police said that the new approach makes things clear by giving out tickets with video proof. Recordings of traffic offences will be kept safe and can be checked.

Officials added that the software will let people check their identity cards, driving licenses, and stolen cars right now. Checks of vehicle ownership, fitness certificates, and route permissions will also be done right away.

The representative also said that digital action will be taken against anybody who break the law or invade someone else’s property. The integrated system will issue e-challans and let you see the status of FIRs and criminal records. In the second phase, a point system will be put in place, and people will be able to file FIRs for some traffic breaches.

People will get information about traffic offences through QR codes.

DIG Traffic Muhammad Waqas Nazir claimed that the program would use digital evidence to make sure that the law is enforced fairly and openly.
